Fitch affirms ‘BBB’ on University Hospital’s revenue bonds

Fitch Ratings affirmed its “BBB” rating on Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital’s series 2015A revenue bonds, affecting $255 million of debt.

The affirmation is a result of University Hospital’s annual appropriations from the state of New Jersey and its ties to the government of New Jersey. Fitch also acknowledged University Hospital’s unfavorable payer mix, annual operating losses and weak liquidity metrics.

The outlook is stable.
