1. Orlando (Fla.) Health recorded revenues of $2.68 billion in fiscal year 2017, up from revenues of $2.46 billion in the year prior. The system ended fiscal year 2017 with operating income of $217.4 million, up 26 percent from operating income of $172.7 million in the year prior.
2. Palmetto Health in Columbia, S.C., recorded revenues of $1.7 billion in fiscal year 2017, up from $1.6 billion in fiscal year 2016. The system ended fiscal year 2017 with an operating loss of $43.8 million, compared to operating income of $17.9 million in the year prior.
3. San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare‘s revenues hovered at $3.5 billion in fiscal year 2017, nearly unchanged from the year prior. The health system ended fiscal year 2017 with operating income of $151.1 million, down from $296.8 million in fiscal year 2016.
4. Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston reported revenues of $3.6 billion in fiscal year 2017, up 18.7 percent from revenues of $3 billion in fiscal year 2016. The hospital ended fiscal year 2017 with operating income of $15.6 million, down 66 percent from $45.6 million in fiscal year 2016.
5. Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care recorded revenues of $2.45 billion in fiscal year 2017, up 3.1 percent from $2.37 billion the year prior. The system ended the most recent fiscal year with operating income of $10.6 million, down 74 percent from $40.7 million in fiscal year 2016.
