California expects to reduce rates by 10 percent to several providers, including physicians, clinics and nursing homes, according to the report. The cuts are expected to save California $623 million this year and next.

The California Medical Association said some physicians could receive as little as $11 per visit from Medicaid patients. CMA officials said several physicians might have to stop seeing Medi-Cal patients, which could also restrict medical access for the state’s poor, according to the report.
