Envision Healthcare and its affiliates are laying off 120 employees who provide services at Baptist Health System in San Antonio.

The layoffs are effective May 31 and affect employees who provide hospital medicine and clinical support services through Envision Physician Services, Questcare Hospitalists and Questcare Matrix, according to a WARN notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.

The job cuts come as the medical staffing group’s contract with Baptist Health ends, according to reports from local news outlets. In its WARN letter, Envision said Baptist is switching to a single physician-provider network and has indicated it will retain as many of the affected employees as possible.

“The Envision physicians, advanced practice providers and clinical support team have been an integral part of the hospital’s team, supporting the health of the community,” Envision said in WARN letter, according to MySA. “The incoming group and hospital have expressed their intent to retain as much of the team as possible at their current facilities and will work with them on new employment following the transition.”
