During its first quarter, which ended Sept. 30, the hospital reported a loss of nearly $4 million compared to $1.3 million during the same time period last year, according to the report, which cites a hospital report to its bondholders.

A significant portion ($1.5 million) of the loss in the first quarter of the 2015 fiscal year is attributed to early refinancing of debt, according to the report. During the same period last year, the hospital received $1 million from a legal settlement, according to the report.

Boca Raton Regional Hospital saw its operating revenue increase from $80.3 million to $92.4 million because of a 13 percent hike in total patient admissions, although it also saw a $6.1 million increase for certain expenses, according to the report.
