Here are four things to know.
1. Planned Parenthood currently has 12 Iowa clinics.
2. Four of those 12 clinics will close due to losing $2 million in funds under state legislation that bans abortion providers from receiving taxpayer money for family planning services, according to the report. Republican Gov. Terry Branstad supports the state measure.
3. Clinics slated for closure are in Burlington, Keokuk, Sioux City and Quad Cities, a region including southeast Iowa. Susan Allen, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, told Reuters the clinics in Burlington, Keokuk, Sioux City will close at the end of June, while the one in Quad Cities will close shortly after that.
4. The four affected clinics served nearly 15,000 patients in the last three years, Ms. Allen said, according to the report.
