A Workforce Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with the North Carolina Department of Commerce states the layoffs will take effect March 31. Affected employees perform revenue cycle management work and include a number of patient account representatives.

The Charlotte Business Journal was not able to immediately reach a Conifer representative for more information.

News of the layoffs comes as Tenet is exploring a potential sale of Conifer as part of its efforts to improve financial performance.
