MedPAC, which will vote in January on the raft of measures, is also calling to up Medicare payment rates for hospital inpatient and outpatient services by the current law amount plus 1 percent; increase payments to physicians; and reduce rates for home health services, skilled nursing facilities and rehab centers, AHA said.
The AHA also wrote to MedPAC Dec. 1 urging a recommendation to Congress that an additional amount be added to the 2024 Medicare fiscal payment to reflect inadequate reimbursement to healthcare systems facing “unprecedented” inflationary and other pressures in 2022.
