Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems has acquired Moses Taylor Health Care in Scranton, Pa., according to a CHS news release.
The acquisition went into effect Jan. 1. Moses Taylor includes the 217-bed Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton and 25-bed Mid-Valley Hospital in Peckville, Pa.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed in the news release.
CHS now operates 16 hospitals in Pennsylvania and 133 hospitals total.
