With Text2Codes, users may enter free text, via dictation or copy and paste, into the app. The app then identifies potential phrases and medical words with at least one code attached: ICD-10 Diagnosis, ICD-10 Procedure or CPT / HCPCS codes, according to a news release. According to the release, the user chooses the correct code from Text2Codes’ suggestions, which are strained to a CMS geographic location. The app will suggest diagnosis supporting procedures (and vice-versa) in specific CMS jurisdictions.
The app is aimed at preventing coding incorrect or medically “unnecessary” procedures.
