New organizations can join Models 2, 3 and 4 of the BPCI initiative during the open period. Interested organizations must submit an Open Period Intake Spreadsheet and an Open Period Intake form by April 18 to be considered. If accepted, they will be added to Phase 1 in July 2014. Phase 1 is the preparation period to assume financial risk.

Additionally, organizations already participating in the initiative can be considered to add episodes and/or Episode Initiators.

The BPCI has four total models, which differ based on types of healthcare providers involved and the services in the bundle. Model 1 is not included in this round of applications. That model had its own open period for more applications from May to July last year.
