CMS invites hospitals to participate in price transparency call

CMS has scheduled a call next month for hospitals on its price transparency final rule.

The final rule — issued Nov. 15 with a health plan transparency proposal that would require insurers to share price and cost-sharing information with members before treatment — requires hospitals to disclose negotiated rates with insurers beginning in 2021.

From 1:30 to 3 p.m. EST Dec. 3, CMS will host a call on the final rule.

CMS said the call will not address the health plan transparency proposal but will address provisions in the hospital price transparency final rule, including the rule's requirements as well as monitoring and enforcement.

The call will include a presentation and allow time for questions.

More information about the call and registration for it is available here.
