CMS Extends Deadlines for Model 1 of Bundled Payment Initiative

CMS extended deadlines for Model 1 of its Bundled Payment for Care Improvement program, as non-binding letters of intent are due Oct. 6 and applications are due Nov. 18, according to an update on the CMS Innovation website.

Previously, letters of intent were due Sept. 22 while applications were due Oct. 21. No reason was given for the extension.

Model 1 is for the inpatient stay only for acute-care hospitals and involves a retrospective bundled payment arrangement.
