The committee’s vote was non-binding, but doesn’t bode well for the bill’s success in the full legislature. Last week, a Florida House committee also voted to block the expansion.
The Senate team did suggest that Florida could expand the Medicaid program to more low-income adults and use the resulting federal funding to place those people onto private plans instead of government coverage.
