Lee Memorial stands to lose $43.7 million in Medicaid funding, more than twice of what it originally calculated when Gov. Scott’s budget was first released, according to the report. The health system’s early predictions did not account for all inpatient and outpatient treatments it provides or longer lengths of stay for Medicaid patients.
In November, Lee Memorial announced it had recorded a profit of $29 million in fiscal year 2011.
