CHS shares sink again

Shares of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems closed Aug. 26 at $1.86, its lowest closing price ever and down 1.06 percent from the day prior.

The hospital chain’s shares traded between $1.84 and $1.95 on Aug. 26 after closing Aug. 23 at $1.88 per share. CHS’ share price was down 3.6 percent on Aug. 23. In the last year, CHS shares have traded between $1.81 and $5.35.  

CHS, which operates 105 hospitals in 18 states, saw its net loss swell in the second quarter of 2019. The company ended the second quarter of this year with a net loss of $167 million on revenues of $3.3 billion. In the second quarter of 2018, CHS recorded a net loss of $110 million on revenue of $3.6 billion.
