Kohls executives announced the donation Oct. 22 at the annual safety and injury prevention fair sponsored by the department store and the hospital and held in Westchester, Calif.
Officials from both institutions said the collaboration grew out of the mutual desire to promote the importance of learning proper safety techniques to save the lives of children and reduce unintentional injuries. Kohls has donated more than $4.3 million to CHLA and its initiatives since 2004.
“I’m very proud of the longtime commitment Kohl’s has made to CHLA’’s injury prevention program,” said Jeffrey Upperman, MD, CHLA’s trauma program director. “This donation is very much appreciated because it allows CHLA to continue to provide ongoing educational services to our patient families and members of our community to reduce preventable injuries and death to children.”
