Mr. Persinger will spearhead efforts to improve UMMC’s efficiency as part of the hospital’s five-year strategic plan for 2014 through 2018. The goal is for UMMC to achieve a net operating margin of 2 percent by fiscal year 2015 and 3 percent by FY2016 to support the hospital’s mission of providing top-quality patient care.
Before being promoted to his current position, Mr. Persinger served in various other financial roles for UMMC, prior to which he was a healthcare consultant at KPMG.
Mr. Persinger serves as the nominations chair for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore and co-authored a paper on revenue analysis for perioperative services published in the journal, Nursing Management.
