He’s worked with the system since 2006, serving in various executive roles until settling in his current position in December 2011. Now, he oversees the financial strategy of a health system that has an operating budget of more than $555 million and a staff of almost 3,800.
Previously, Mr. Maher was vice president and treasurer of St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, N.Y., for 18 years. He’s also worked in accounting and consulting firms specializing in the healthcare industry.
Mr. Maher earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Providence College and a master’s of public health in health policy and management from Columbia University.
