New York-based Cedar launched Cedar Cover, a digital platform designed to streamline coverage and financial aid access for hospital patients, on Oct. 20.
The “digital safety net” embeds directly into hospital billing systems to support Medicaid enrollment, proactive renewal workflows, denials resolution and medication assistance. The platform is positioned as a digital safety net to reduce patient financial burden and improve provider reimbursement. Through partnerships with Fortuna Health and TailorMed, the platform helps identify Medicaid-eligibility and simplify the enrollment process. Then it engages patients in staying ahead of redetermination to maintain coverage.
Cedar Cover also supports patients in resolving denials, coordinating benefits and achieving medication co-pay assistance.

The New York-based company said nearly a dozen organizations are already using the platform, including Novant Health, Baystate Health, ApolloMD and The Iowa Clinic. Cedar Cover supports Medicaid enrollment, proactive renewal workflows, denials resolution and medication assistance.
Early implementations have delivered a 30% increase in insurance reimbursement from overturned denials, generating $8 million in annual value recovery at one large health system. Novant Health reported average medication assistance grants exceeding $12,000 per approved application. Another system in the Northeast saw a 97% Medicaid application approval rate, with applications surging more than threefold month over month.
Cedar has supported more than 50 million patients nationwide and processed over $10 billion in payments.
