The plan, named BlueLocal with Carolinas HealthCare System, will be made available Jan. 1 to residents of Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties, according to the report.
BlueLocal was designed for people under age 65 who purchase their own insurance and prefer care through Carolinas, as all Carolinas providers and facilities — more than 900 locations — will be in-network. The plan will be available through the federal health insurance exchange, as well as through Blue Cross.
