The agreement enables Canopy to contract directly with health plans to develop insurance products with the support and guidance of Conifer’s expertise. Through the arrangement, Canopy aims to take on full-risk contracts and grow its strength as a risk-based care organization.
Canopy is a joint venture between University of California San Francisco Health and John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, Calif., launched in March 2015.
