Boston Children’s Hospital received more than $200 million donation — the largest gift in its history — from the Boston Celtics ownership group and the Boston Celtics.

The gift will support the new behavioral health campus, research into new treatments for childhood diseases, training for pediatric nurses, family-centered programs and an innovation fund, according to an Oct. 29 hospital news release.

“I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the extraordinary work being done at Boston Children’s Hospital and the difference it makes for patients and families,” Rob Hale, Boston Celtics co-owner, said in the release. “Through this gift, the Celtics and Boston Children’s Hospital can help advance groundbreaking research, expand access to exceptional care, and create opportunities to improve the lives of children for years to come.”

The total includes the $100 million gift from Celtics co-owner Rob Hale and his wife, Karen, announced in December 2025 to help build the hospital’s new pediatric behavioral health campus in Boston’s Brighton neighborhood.
