Bill to increase Florida hospital funding dies in special session

A Florida bill, which would have restored $100 million in hospital funding to hospitals, died quietly in a special legislative session that ended Friday, according to News4Jax.

Sen. Anitere Flores, chair of the senate health appropriations committee, proposed the bill to partially offset $521 million in Medicaid payment cuts, according to the report.

However, the Florida House opposed tackling the proposed hospital funding bill during the three-day special session, ultimately killing the bill, according to the report.
