BayCare boosts operating margin to 11.8% in 2025

Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System recorded an operating income of $821.4 million (11.8% operating margin) in 2025, up from $603.4 million (9.6% margin) in 2024, according to its March 23 financial report. 

The system reported total operating revenue of $7 billion for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, up from $6.3 billion during the same period last year. Net patient service revenue was $6.5 billion, up from $5.9 billion. Net premium revenue was $205.8 million, up from $158.6 million. 

Total operating expenses were $6.1 billion in 2025, up from $5.7 billion in 2024. Salaries and benefits totaled $3.2 billion, up from $3 billion. Supply costs totaled $1.2 billion, up from $1.1 billion. Health plan claims and expenses were $136.3 million, up from $78.6 million. 

BayCare reported a net income of $1.4 billion in 2025, up from $1.2 billion in 2024.
