Baptist opens $234M hospital on Florida island

Baptist Medical Center Clay opened Dec. 19 on Fleming Island, Fla., following two years of construction and a $234 million investment from Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health, WJCT News reported Dec. 19.

The Fleming Island campus is 300,000 square feet and includes 102 beds and 20 maternity rooms. In February, a cancer care center with radiation and infusion services is set to open. 

The fifth and sixth stories of the six-story hospital have been purposefully left underdeveloped to make room for future expansions.
