Under the QE program, Avalere gained access to patient-level data for Medicare Parts A, B and D beneficiaries. Organizations meeting specific performance measurement, data management, security and data volume requirements receive CMS approval to become a QE.

Avalere said the data can help providers understand patient populations, benchmark performance, evaluate bundled payment programs and establish alternative payment models.
