The hospital has been struggling financially, losing $2.2 million from July 2013 to November 2014. Sitka Community Hospital needs the $1 million to make payroll and cover its employees’ health insurance benefits for December and January, among other things.
The hospital is expected to repay the loan once it resolves its cash flow issues, according to the report.
