Gov. Beebe said state lawmakers would still need to approve the measure, which is part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In June, the Supreme Court upheld the law but said the Medicaid expansion provision is optional for states.
“I’m for it,” Gov. Beebe said in the report. “I think it’s good for our people because it’s helping folks that don’t have insurance now [who] are working their tails off. They’re not sitting on a couch somewhere asking for something.”
