If JCH accepts the contract and wants to increase prices greater than the market basket update used by Medicare, it would have to increase its discounts proportionally as well, the report said.
Roughly 15 percent of the hospital’s revenue comes from BCBS of Wyoming members. According to the report, the hospital does want the insurance company dictating its prices, but if it declines the contract, the hospital’s volume will take a significant hit.
