Anthem Blue Cross of Calif. to launch bundled payment program for cancer care

Anthem Blue Cross of California and Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group in Manhattan Beach, Calif., have entered an episode-of-care payment agreement for patients with a breast cancer diagnosis who require radiation treatment.

The single case rate agreement covers all services provided to the patient for breast cancer treatment. Both parties aim to develop long-term price, cost and revenue predictability for breast cancer treatment.

The bundled payment plan is effective May 15, 2017.
