After factoring in nonoperating gains, the health system ended 2017 with net income of $51.1 million. That’s compared to a net loss of $40 million in 2016. This is the first time AHN has reported positive full-year earnings, according to the Tribune-Review.

AHN is a seven-hospital system and is a subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health.
