After the hospital closed, Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium took over the facility. SEARHC will operate the facility as part of Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital.
SEARHC plans to offer a variety of services at the former Sitka Community Hospital, including a family clinic and long-term care, according to SEARHC’s website.
Local residents will also have access to urgent care. Mountainside Urgent Care, formerly Sitka Medical Center Express Care Clinic, will be open seven days a week.
