15 New CMS Medicare ACOs to Participate in Advance Payment Model

CMS has announced that 15 of the 89 new accountable care organizations participating in the Medicare Shared Savings Program will also take part in the Advance Payments ACO Model.

The Advance Payment Model is designed for physician-based and rural ACOs that may have less access to capital. Participants will receive upfront monthly payments from CMS, which they can use to make investment in care coordination infrastructure. Organizations that wish to participate in the model must also apply for the MSSP for consideration. Including the newly announced, a total of 20 ACOs now participate in the Advance Payment Model.

Here are the 15 new Medicare ACOs taking part in the Advance Payment Model:

  5. Harbor Medical Associates, PC (South Weymouth, Mass.)
  6. Maryland Accountable Care Organization of Eastern Shore LLC (National Harbor, Md.)
  7. Maryland Accountable Care Organization of Western MD LLC (National Harbor, Md.)
  8. Medical Mall Services of Mississippi (Jackson, Miss.)
  9. MPS ACO Physicians, LLC (Middletown, Conn.)
  10. Physicians ACO, LLC (Houston)
  11. PriMed, LLC (Shelton, Conn.)
  12. Quality Independent Physicians (Louisville, Ky.)
  13. Reliance Healthcare Management Solutions, LLC (Tampa, Fla.)
  14. St. Thomas Medical Group PLLC (Nashville, Tenn.)
  15. Texoma ACO, LLC (Wichita Falls, Texas)
