Skilled Nursing Facilities to Get 1.8% Payment Increase Starting Oct. 1

CMS has announced a 1.8 percent increase to the prospective payment system for Medicare-certified skilled nursing facilities beginning Oct. 1, the start of federal fiscal year 2013.

The final 1.8 percent PPS hike includes a market basket rate increase of 2.5 percent minus a 0.7 percent productivity cut required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
