6 things to know about Tenet subsidiary, Conifer

Conifer Health Solutions, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's revenue cycle management subsidiary, has made the news recently amid Tenet's plans to spin off Conifer.

Here are six things to know about Conifer:

1. Conifer, which provides outsourced revenue cycle services, launched in 2008.

2. The company serves hospitals and health systems in areas including consumer experience, revenue management, clinical revenue integrity, health information management and population health management.

3. Through its offerings, Conifer manages more than 17 million unique patient interactions and about $25 billion in net patient revenue each year.

4. Kyle Burtnett serves as interim CEO of Conifer. He joined Conifer in 2017 as the company's first COO.

5. Tenet plans to spin off Conifer into a separate publicly traded company by the end of the second quarter of 2021.

6. Tenet Chairman and CEO Ronald A. Rittenmeyer said the spin-off "is an important step forward in Conifer’s evolution, and we believe the business is well-positioned to capitalize on its growth opportunities as a standalone company."
