Lawrence, Kan.-based LMH Health and four other independent Kansas health systems have formed Astra Health, a regional collaboration to help improve patient care, strengthen access to specialty services and deliver affordable healthcare options.
The collaboration was founded by LMH Health, Atchinson, Kan.-based Amberwell Health, Emporia, Kan.-based Newman Regional Health, Salina (Kan.) Regional Health Center and Kansas City-based University of Kansas Health System, according to a Sept. 8 news release.
Astra Health will allow the systems to share resources, coordinate clinical services, share expertise and improve performance. It will also help lower total care costs, develop direct-to-employer health plan solutions and strengthen long-term sustainability of the systems.
Astra Health, which is a participant of the Kansas Clinical Improvement Collaborative, will continue to explore opportunities in clinical integration, digital health, employer partnerships, population health and coordinated specialty services.
