At the AHLA Transactions Program on April 16, 2015, VMG Health Director Colin McDermott presented on current trends in the healthcare market and joint ventures.
According to the presentation slide deck, McDermott discussed the five following trends:
– Independent hospitals may be determined to stay independent
– Nonprofit systems may have limited capacity to make acquisitions
– Certain active buyers in the process of integrating previous targets
– Buyers will continue to be more selective in strategic acquisitions
– Increased regulatory scrutiny
