Here are four statistics on the computer coding job market, as reported by Fast Company.

1. Eight of Glassdoor’s 25 Best Jobs in America for 2016 are in tech positions.

2. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment specifically for computer programmers is projected to decline 8 percent from 2014 to 2024, to 302,200 positions, as businesses hire programmers in countries where wages are lower.

3. However, Burning Glass, a job market analytics firm, found that there were 7 million job openings in 2015 in occupations which value coding skills. They also found that programming jobs are growing 50 percent faster than the market overall.

4. Additionally, Burning Glass researchers found that half of all programming openings are in finance, manufacturing, healthcare and other sectors outside of the technology industry.
