The city is providing a $100,000 match for the project and is looking for more funding to extend sewer services to the site, according to a news release.
The new $46.5 million ChiltonHospital will help fulfill a healthcare need in ChiltonCounty, which has not had a hospital since 2012, when Chilton Medical Center closed, the release states.
The hospital, which will be operated and managed by St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham, will include an emergency department and offer diagnostic and surgical services.
