The decision was the result of ongoing recruitment challenges for labor and delivery providers, Suzanne Spruce, senior vice president, chief marketing and communications officer for Northern Light Health, said in a Jan. 23 statement shared with Becker’s.
“Suspending this service allows us the time needed to design a new program that supports consistent access to high-quality prenatal care, labor, and delivery for the communities we serve, and that our patients expect and deserve,” Ms. Spruce said.
Northern Light will work with affected expecting patients to help transition care to a facility of their choice.
