The budget would be $8.9 billion more than 2019. Of note, it includes $25 million for gun violence research within the CDC and $140 million to help reduce new HIV infections, according to the report.
The proposal must now pass the Senate. A package must be passed by September to avoid a government shutdown, similar to what occurred earlier this year.
