After Feud, Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut Renews Contract With Anthem

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield allowed its contract with Middlesex Hospital of Middletown, Conn., to expire last Monday after months of botched negotiating, but the two sides announced they have renewed a multiyear contract.

Terms of the deal were not released, but the two organizations have arranged for services provided to Anthem members last week to be covered at in-network rates, rather than the more expensive out-of-network rates.
