Humana 2Q Earnings Up 35%

Humana’s second quarter earnings increased 35 percent from the same period last year, according to a company news release.

For the three months ended June 30, 2011, Humana had a net income of $460.3 million, compared to earnings of $340.1 million in the second quarter of 2010.

Humana also had an increase of 8 percent in its consolidated revenues from $8.59 billion in 2Q10 to $9.28 billion in 2Q11.
