14 Texas Hospitals Fight for New Medicaid Payments

Fourteen hospitals across Texas have asked the state Supreme Court that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission recalculate Medicaid reimbursements for fiscal years 2008 and 2009, according to a Houston Business Journal report.

The hospitals argued that a 2008 injunction that was supposed to alter Medicaid rates was not implemented until 2010, leaving them out millions of dollars in Medicaid funds, according to the report.

Some of the hospitals listed on the lawsuit include Conroe Regional Medical Center and East Houston Medical Center, both of which are owned by Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America.
