Topics discussed included keeping communication lines open regarding the many unanswered questions concerning federal and state negotiations, advocating at the state level and the connection between coverage and payment reductions, according to the report.

AHA Board Chair Teri Fotenot, the president and CEO of Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, La., and AHA President and CEO Rich Umbdenstock said they will stay in close contact with HHS and state hospital associations as individual states decide whether or not to opt out of Medicaid expansions called for in the PPACA.
