Ms. Mayhew said it will probably take a few weeks to estimate how much Maine will owe, according to the report.
MaineCare, Maine’s Medicaid program, has had problems with its computerized eligibility and claims systems. In that 16-month span, roughly 19,000 beneficiaries received letters saying they were no longer eligible for Medicaid coverage, but they still had active MaineCare cards and accounts.
