The payment total for the Medicare program since it began in January 2011 is nearly $1.2 billion for around 66,800 eligible professionals and nearly $2.2 billion for 1,217 eligible general and critical access hospitals. The payment total for the Medicaid program to-date is nearly $1.1 billion for approximately 50,800 eligible professionals and nearly $2.1 billion for around 2,400 eligible general and critical access hospitals.
The July payment totals for eligible general hospitals, critical access hospitals and eligible professionals under the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs include:
• More than 3,100 eligible professionals received about $56 million in incentive payments for the Medicare program.
• Eighty eligible general and critical access hospitals received about $133 million for the Medicare program.
• More than 4,200 eligible professionals received $87 million from the Medicaid program.
• One hundred forty-two eligible general and critical access hospitals received $106 million from the Medicaid program.
