The Christ Hospital’s transition to independence was a difficult one, as the hospital posted net patient revenue of $483 million, far lower than its expenses of $521 million in 2009. However, in fiscal year 2011, the hospital has grown its net patient revenue to $555 million and kept expenses at $533 million, according to the report.
The Christ Hospital attributes its improving finances to increasing physician employment and the number of outpatient centers.
