Sound Shore Health System is laying off pharmacists, lab workers, case managers, respiratory therapists, X-Ray technicians, clerks, housekeepers and dietary aides, according to the report. Jobs will be eliminated Sept. 25.

The system attributes the cuts to “changes in the healthcare environment, particularly Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement policies, along with providing more than $30 million in uncompensated care,” according to the report.
